Via a link from another cycling forum, there is a sad account here of a nasty accident involving a bike tourer in Africa. It seems she was hit by a hit and run driver and found by local charity workers.

I think this may be 'flicca' who posts here?

I feared so. Judging from her posts and her blog she's a tough and determined young woman, so here's hoping she pulls through without any permanent damage and gets back on her travels again.

Very nasty, but it looks as though she's getting decent medical care at least.

Went through something similar with my ex, so I have some idea what her family are going through.

Hopefully there'll be better news soon.

Having just returned from these same countires, I can (just about) imagine what terrible thing happened to poor Flicca. I wish her well and hope she makes a fast and full recovery.
