Hi there-
I'm doing this Intrepid bike tour in March from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City.
Wondering if anyone has done it and can tell me how difficult (hilly) it is.

Also anyone know bike shops in Hong Kong or Hanoi? I will need some gear before i go.

Thanks!

Hi,

There are tons of people that have cycled that route and it's mostly flat if you stay on the coast and not really a big challenge, if you go inland however things can become a lot more challenging in a hurry. Tiny bump called Hai Van Pass which is about 400m high roughly in the middle not too far from Hue. The following is a link to one of the better bike shops in HK. It has most of the things that a cyclist might need. If you do a search on this forum, you will find much information.

Is not Intrepid a tour company. As such they organize a trip that is comfortable, presumably HW 1.
As above, Hai Van Pass is the variation from flat. Most go over it with little difficulty.

yeah HAI VCAN PASS and the area around DALAT,are the only ones with some hilly cycling.....overall for us with panniers.
but if you are a more than a fun ciclist,I would said there is not a really hard times in those areas.
