This question is for people who carry their stuff on the front of their bike. What is the best headset for a loaded fork? For that matter, what is a good rigged fork for a 100mm suspension corrected bike, (26 inch). The troll fork looks good on paper. I don't want a 3+ pound fork. I would rather pay more for something good.

I've search around for the same thing and often see Salsa mentioned, 80mm might be more your number, whereas if it is 100mm, the 1*1 fork - http://surlybikes.com/parts/forks/1x1_fork - http://www.jensonusa.com/Salsa-Cromoto-26-Fork On One have forks as well - http://www.on-one.co.uk/c/q/components/forks-and-shocks/rigid-forks

Don't know a lot about headsets, but I've seen the Cain Creek 40 mentioned and my Cannondale touring bike came fitted with a Cain Creek headset, they seem ok. http://www.canecreek.com/products/headsets/forty

The only thing i haven't replaced yet on my bike is the headset (40k+) and the brake leavers so think any decent MTB one will.do. Most of k's were with front panniers and a lot of unpaved roads.
