How about us all getting rid of the poxy Thorn Tree World location from our personal profiles?

When reading a post I sometimes find it useful to know where the poster is based - say they are talking about insurance (normally only available from home base), or want a recomendation for bike or gear. Not to mention being able to make allowances for accidental language misuse, or other cultural differences.

Is national anonimity so important????

They seem to keep losing it. I reset mine again only recently and they've lost it again already.

Yeah, you're right. I sometimes look up the profile either from curiousity or to be helpful, yet I recently changed mine to cloak things a bit. I'm going to change it back as I'd like to flush out some people here (fat chance, mind you) who are, to say the least, disingenuous and I think you're right, there's no need for anonymity.

An example of what I was saying: Compare the image stolen for use in http://stealbiker.tripod.com/ with the image http://www.ricenpeas.com/docs/an%20african%20in%20asia.html.

And no, I have never asked you to write an article for any 'Cyclo-tourism' handbook. It's time for you to think up a new name and start over....

Interesting. So Striker is a complete fake - and he suckered me, not that that's much of an achievement - I can be quite naive at times.

It's certainly relieved the tedium of my day at work today - but it's time to move on now striker. Don't worry though I'm sure I'll fall for your next trick too.

And not a very good fake - his refusal to say where he is, what he's doing makes it obvious its all in his mind.....

Hebairt - have you gone back and rechecked the site. Seems he just borrowed the photo for a while.
But he has put a bit of time into his pleasure.

Same, always wonder why people hide in Thorn Tree. Why need to ???
Maybe ashamed of their country ??
Anonymity is one one thing but.......... Surely a handle is enough.....
But ok, if they want to remain obscure and hidden

Does make it easier to reply if you know the country culture differences terminology of who you are replying to. Too many time a reply is misconstrued because of these unknowns.... Suggestions possible for some, not so for others.

When this was bought up one previous time, think it was Cheryl, gave a reason for how TT country came about. Maybe. No good reason for it now.

Re. "poxy Thorn Tree World location": Mine has also been lost, and now it never updates! It says "successfully updated", but stays as "Poxy Thorn Tree World".

Poxy thing.

Location: Edinburgh, United Kingdom, just by the Caledonian Brewery.

I tried to update mine, got my name in there, but seems I'm trapped on the island of Thorn Tree World.

Re: Striker's photo, yes he's changed it, I see. I passed his details on, which didn't amount to much, to the owner of the image he had stolen. OK, yawn away. I successfully ignored him for a long time but thought he was well past his sell-by date. A number of people here gave him a second chance after he'd insulted them, and he only insulted them again.

I just noticed that I'm apparently living in Thorn Tree World.

For the record I'm somewhere in the UK.
