I want to cycle to Nordkapp from Western Europe via Finland this summer.

I'd like to know the best/easiest most reliable/cheapest way of getting myself and my bike back from northern Norway.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The very best way is to carry on cycling SW through Norway, since the west coast of Norway is some of the very best cycling in Europe. Don't miss the Vesteralen and Lofoten islands (there is a ferry from Senja to the northernmost point of hte Vesteralen, which minimises the amount you have to travel on that nasty main road.)

Then when you have had enough, you could check out these people Norwegian Air Shuttle, who are a low cost airline serving various airports around Norway and Europe through a hub at Oslo Gardemoen (the main Oslo airport, unlike Ryanair). They do charge for your bicycle, but carry it with very little fuss. I flew Stansted-Oslo-Narvik(Evenes) and Trondheim-Oslo-Stansted all for about £200 a couple of summers ago, avoiding the more expensive flight times. I don't know if they have improved the site, but it wasn't possible to pay the bike fee online when I used them - don't bother phoning them just pay at the airport.
