Cycling in Vietnam During Tet

Tet begins on February 18th this year and it appears we will be in Southern Vietnam at the time. Has anyone cycled through Vietnam during Tet? Any words of wisdom?

yeah...I did it..and is terrible...first there is almost no public buses...then a lot of traffic...and also a lot of places closed.....hoteles are full...etc etc/..the best thing to do?...try to stay in small places or villages.no so turistics.

in the other hand...is a nice experience if you like the cultural commercial traditions or costumes.

yes, i did it a couple of years ago and was a little worried before i got there. however i didnt have any problems. i rode from saigon to chau doc staying in mytho and cantho along the way. i had no trouble finding accomodation. when i got to chau doc i took a boat to PP.
