Respect!
wow - thanks a lot for all the replies guys! Even 'striker' left a message - I've achieved every cyclists dream now !! ;-)
Nikka - Sorry, only just got around to reading the thread and I fly out of Cape Town back to England this afternoon. (My fifteen minutes of newspaper fame will have to wait!)
Did I enjoy it and any countries I wouldn't go back too?? On the whole, yes it was enjoyable apart from Ethiopia. It would take a large sum of money to get me to go back there again!!
And whats next... Work to pay back some credit card debts. I am going to save for a longer bicycle tour, but whilst I am doing that, this time next year I am going to walk the GR11 route through the Pyrenees which should keep me occupied for a couple of months.
Thanks once again guys.
Dan - Good luck with your trip man!! I'll keep visiting the new site.

I was surprised to read that about Ethiopia on your blog because jsut the other day i read that some other traveller really liked it. I didn't read your whole entry though, do you write about what was so bad in your blog entries? or could you put it in a nutshell here?

Most people have a love/hate relationship with Ethiopia.
The amount of hassle (mostly from kids) can be overwhelming for some (struggling up a hill for 30 mins with 20 kids following you demanding pens, Birr, your shoes, your t-shirt, fruit, your bike,...... can be a bit annoying).
Sometimes it drove me to the brink of insanity, but I'd go back tomorrow if I got the chance.
