Hi All - Heading to Provence for a weeks cycling in early July and am wondering if anyone can recommend any good guide books that have information on suggested routes, camping, town information etc? I have been told that LP's Cycling France guide is out of print, does anyone in the UK have a copy I could buy?

Also, our gruop is starting out from Nimes, are the adequate bike rental places in this town?

Thanks

Where is your base? I can lend you my LP book if you're in HK.

I wouldn't worry too much about the LP book as it only has specific routes - great if you are going on one, but chances are slim. If you really want it, try your local library. If not in your branch then you can request it for a small fee - unless you live here where it is free now.

Best bet is to get a good map (I like the Michelin yellow ones) and a good Guide book for the country or if poss the area. LP or Rough Guide are pretty good and cover the more budget end - ie campsites, etc. Search this site (the sales bit) for LP regional guides

Also the French have good toursit offices - you can contact from UK by phone (they used and I am sure still do have an office in London) or try the internet. Also once in France there are often good info offices in most towns.

You can borrow mine : just pick it at my house in Paris (France). It's a french edition but you get the circuits and the maps. Send me a PM
