cycle route kandy to the mountains?

Hello, i am in kandy, SRI LANKA and wish to ride towards Nuwara but hopefully avoid the main road. I have cycled plenty of back roads - often bad but very quiet and beautiful. Any suggestions of a route from here please?

I have ridden that road a few times and it was fine. If you are looking for a real treat though, ride to Nuwara Eliya, get lodging and take a day ride down onto Hortons Plasins and see the End of the World. It is unforgettable.
