I think I will definatelly use "gas". I agree with you...much easier, no maintenance, cleaner, more reliable etc, etc.
Many others have also confirmed the availability to buy gas in La Paz... and also widely available in Chile and Argentina (where I will also spend some time).
So gas it will be!!
