Biking to BonnivilleInterest forums / On Your Bike
My friend and I are going to be doing a biking trip from Vancouver, Canada to Wendover, Utah this summer. We are heading down to watch a friend race on the Boniville salt flats in August. We will be heading acroos Southern BC to near Rossland and then heaading down through Washington through Spokane and into Idhao through Boisie and Twin Falls and into Nevada for a bit before ending in Wendover and the salt flats. Also we hope to do a side trip on the bus to Moab. Any information that you can provise on biking in these parts or any other useful information, please let me know as we are both from Vancouver and dont know the route well.
I live in Boise. If you're riding a road bike, be prepared for flats. We have tons of goatheads. If you're on a mtn. bike, slime them. If you need a possible place to stay, contact me. :) And I think you're nuts to bike Idaho and Utah in the summer heat! | 1
I agree, avoid Idaho in the summer, in fact the southern portion of Utah may be the ugliest part of the US I've ever been to. I don't mean to upset travelinhobo, serious. Just my twoi cents. | 2
Can't help much except to recommend Paul Wood's book on biking in southern BC. It's EXCELLENT. | 3
