Hello all,
My wife are on our way from Sweden to Bangkok and we will pick up a friend who will join us from Kunming to Luang Prabang. On her way here she will make a short stop over in Bangkok to borrow a spare bicycle I have there.
When flying back she will need to bring it on the flight from Luang Prabang to Bangkok and both airlines that fly out of the town requires the bike to be packed in a box.
Does anyone know if it there are bikeshops in Luang Prabang where we could count on finding a box?

There are sporting good shops that sell bikes. You should have no trouble. Another option is just creating a box from cardboard.

When I cycled through Laos I met another cyclist who's bike had broken down completely and he had bought a brand new Trek bike in LP. So there must be a decent bike shop somewhere. I was back again a year ago and spent quite a bit of time looking for a good bike shop, but found only very small shops.

Thanks for your replies.
We have flown a lot with our bikes and almost always put them in boxes, but never made a box on our own. We have a bit of time constraint in LPB so I hope we don't need to make our own box since this sounds time consuming ;-)
