Hey there!
We are planning a little Alsastian adeventure in late February. I know the weather is still cold and possibly snowy but we don't have another option and really want to go. In any case I am looking for some tips:
1. We are both full on cycle tourists but we will also have a car. Do you have any suggestions for day trips?
2. Do you have any hotel reccomendations which are bicycle friendly, particularly in Strasbourg and Colmar? I just don't like the idea of leaving them in the car and we will be in those cities for a few days so if I can find a place to lock them securly I would feel better.
3. Any other suggestions you have!!! Restaurants, sites... ect. I have a travel guide but getting first hand advice is wonderful.
Thank you! Feel free to respond in French or English.

I'm a great fan of Alsace as I used to live in the Vosges. The good news is you should be able to have a fun time following the Route du Vin which goes through all the pretty little villages from Strasbourg to Colmar. The bad news is that many of the hotels and degustation may be closed. That time of year the region is really geared up for skiing up in the hills (don't how much snow they have had yet though) rather than touring in the Rhine valley. So the hotels up in the ski stations,e.g Gerardmer, will be open. The main roads up to the hills should be open, e.g. the Col de la Schucht (well worth the climb), but some of the smaller roads in the hills may be closed. Haut Koenigsbourg is well worth a visit.
I have yet to stay in a hotel that couldn't find a secure room to store a couple of bikes.
Bon chance!
