This December, I will be flying from the west coast of Canada to London to join a birding trip to The Gambia. This puts me back in London around the 18th of December.

While I have spent my recent winters in Latin America (mostly Mexico), I realize that London is the place of cheap (I hope!!!) airline tickets to everywhere.

My wish list includes warm weather (I am Canadian, and have had my fill of snow and other similar disgusting characteristics of winter), interesting urban centres with…

Just found out that WWW.Create.com has TV travel shows for us who are The Soon to Be Dead--Called "The Seasoned Traveler--for Baby Boomers and above..

Assume the term " above" refers to those in Heaven.

Todays show was "Retiring in Panama" Looks too nice for Baby Boomers. Thursday show wil be Peru.

OK Im off on my own for an adventure to London and paris in may/June 2013. I am needing advice from all you experienced travellers of where i can stay in both cities that won't cost an arm and a leg !. My requirements are..own bathroom, close enough to city centre that would allow me to walk most of the tourist sites. I don't mind if it is B&B, hotel or even a hostel that has single rooms. Many thanks in advance

Last week my youngest brother drove me, our mother, three of her brothers and two sisters-in-law here: Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge.

The girl selling tickets asked "Are any of you over 55?"

"All of us except him" said I, pointing to my brother. "He's only 51."

"Okay" she said. "Five seniors and one child. That'll be $55."

If you have not seen the movie The Way with Martin Sheen, rent it!

Since seeing it, we and a bunch of other Soon to Be Dead friends are seriously considering walking the Camino de Santiago.

Any old timers out there who have walked it? Thoughts about a bunch of late 60 and early 70 year old people doing it?

I'm only doing it because it negates all future sins. Already bought three bars of "wash away your sins" soap to get rid of past sins.

I am quitting my job towards the end of May and going travelling for six weeks or so. I must say that initially the prospect of retiring was terrifying but now I couldn't wait till the day eventuates and the new life begins.

The job itself is not too bad, especially since I had decided to stop madness of climbing the corporate ladder but I hate, hate, hate the office politics. Would love to be married to a partner that likes travelling but apart from the planned trip to London, Spain and…

Hi

We are thinking of visiting Spain, Greece and possibly Italy. Just wondering whether how the locals who have to penny pinch to survive will treat what they perceive are 'rich' travellers visiting their country? We are by no means, rich, just comfortable and have saved hard for this trip.

Hubby is thinking of retiring next year and so decided he better do a bit of travelling otherwise we may not be able to afford it. So, this will be our grand tour of Europe, so to speak. Also, we are lucky…

We're both well over 70 and will be home exchanging in Catalonia in May. All OK, except we're a bit concerned these days with our security in big cities. We have in recent times we've been fortunate to have local friends to advise and assist us when in Rio, Sao Paulo and Lima. We won't have the benefit of such a luxury this trip.
Any safety concerns or issues about Barcelona day trips, especially travel on metro?
Also looking at doing a quick trip by train south to Granada hopefully enabling us…

I see a few of the regulars here, but since the demise of YC and WT, (OT must be well behaved) there's not much to do on TT unless planning a trip.

Well turns out I have a couple of weeks in September and would like to go somewhere I haven't been, somewhere that's not going to break the bank and that also works for a solo traveller (everyone tells me Fiji is for couples).

As I'm travelling from OZ, Europe is not a cheap option and I've already been to Cambodia, Lao, Thailand, Vietnam, Bali…
