Will I know when I qualify as an "older traveller"? Maybe I already am.

I posted this reply to Canayjun's post about her threads disappearing, and in doing so found something else strange about this new TT - if you post an answer to an earlier posting, it appears to stay in the order of the date of the original posting - it seems that all these reply postings are now going to get lost, and never be seen, unlike the old system when a reply brought the item back to the top of the list.

"Hi Canayjun - your African threads may have disappeared, but it still shows you…

Ignoring all the other complaints about the new format I thought I would pass on a tip for those who find the smaller print hard to read. Some 'Oldies' even need to wear glasses I hear.

If you hold down the 'control' button on your keyboard and then press the '+' key you will increase the font size. If you do this several times you will push the adds right off the side of the page (hint) and who knows, you may even be able to dispense with your glasses.

The thing that seems to niggle evertone about the new TT is the tiny space we now have for our posts ... the very thing we log on for.

Well .... look this seems to work if we want to increase the width of the postage stamp area we now have to work with. Just paste in a long line ...and the advertising is shunted over

There are countless threads all over the TT objecting to the new format. There seems to be 2 recurring themes. First is the here is what I don't like and preferred the old way. Second is the I'm leaving, never to return and that will teach TT a lesson.

Well the first is typical resistance to change and meaningless as far as being likely to influence anything. The second is nearly as meaningless unless a HUGE decrease in usage were observed and in reality that is highly unlikely. Suggesting…

Just thought I'd pop in to say goodbye and thanks to all of you who've provided me with great advice, entertainment and inspiration over the years.

I can't cope with this new TT format at all - it's just pathetic so yesterday I signed up with Bootsnall. They have an 'Older travellers' type forum too - I think it's called 'Still goin' or something like that. Perhaps I'll meet some of you over there. If you do drop in my logon there is nomadic1 so please say hi.

Thanks again and bye.

I was unsure where to post this so I ended up just picking a spot. Forgive me if this is incorrect.

I am curious if anyone has had direct personal experience with a web site called wholesale-flights(dot)com. The prices are half what I can find anywhere else for international travel.

I keep thinking there must be a catch and would like to be aware of it before I get taken for a ride.

Thank you for your time

The oft repeated information That Nationwide is the only financial institution that charges NO fees whatsoever is not correct.

As a proponent of Nationwide under my current and past handles I am sorry to say that I and everyone else praising them have been wrong all along. They do indeed charge no transaction fees but they do not exchange at the FULL interbank rate as previously stated. They exchage at the Visa rate which is 1% less than the Interbank Rate.

They are still ONE OF the best for a…

Hi, I have unexpectedly got 3 weeks to relax in Thailand. In Bangkok now but thought I'd treat myself to some relaxation time on a beautiful beach.

I'm not a drinking all night party person, so don't really want to be with hoards of youngsters, (they just make me feel soo old), but do enjoy company. I'm on a resonable budget so don't have to worry too much but also don't want to have to spend a fortune as lots more travelling to do yet.

Any ideas please?

Thanks Tina
