I'm having a great time travelling on my own and I've started a blog with pictures starting with Ecuador
and Colombia. It's fabulous and I love being on my own. I never feel threatened and people treat you
with more respect as an older person.

Hi there, the feet are itchy again and I am toggling with the idea to ride my bike from Australia or NZ towards Europe.
I am a female senior rider, have done quite a bit riding, are not keen to race. I would be on a budget, will have time to smell the roses and to enjoy the diverse countries.
A mature riding companion would be appreciated.
Time frame: may be march/april next year.
Would be nice to hear from you, thanks.

Has anyone ever experienced researching family history while travelling outside of their own country? One of my uncles disappeared in Argentina during the 1920's.. family rumor has it that he wanted to lose his wife and gain the family fortune which he was travelling with in order to buy property... and I am starting to think about trying to trace this story.. I did the internet search, and have found a possible family member in BA, but he emigrated there from Russia fairly recently. I have…

Thu 9 The Wedding Reception
After a sound sleep I rose at six and settled down with a cuppa. Generally loafing about, I deliberately took my time over everything, determined stress and tiredness would not upset this day. Zowjati (My Wife in Arabic) was equally rested and about to visit the hairdresser once more after our morning chat, having first made sure I was taking it easy. The Wee Man failed to arrive as promised, his courage at having to…

Can I offer, on behalf of my wife and I, our sincere gratitude for the many posts, PMs and e-cards of encouragement and eventually of congratulations, that we have recieved from the OTB members. The highs and lows of the months, and especially final 2 weeks, leading up to our wedding have been both exhilating and traumatic, and the TTAB and OTB have kept us relatively sane throughout. I will be replying personally to those concerned.
You are all very special people.
Thank you.

A very quick trip by our standards – just three weeks. But we certainly covered a lot of different landscapes. Traveled in our camperized van, a converted Ford E250 with a pop-up roof. On this trip we finally decided on a name for the van – Freda – for “Freedom Machine.” She really is that to us – small enough to get us into obscure little forestry campsites, roomy enough to keep us comfortable for months at a time, with enough…
I now have a little time to write something providing this dreadful computer allows me. I am in arequipa and have been to the colca canyon to see the condors. We saw many and it was wonderful. They are up there with albatrosses for my love of birds flying. However the tour i took was terrible and i warn anyone to check carefully how many people will be on your trip. Agencies here overload and this tour doesn´t allow much time anyway. I was lumbered with 40 people whereas it is usually about 15…
We have just moved to the Beach near Geelong,Victoria OZ, away from: Bushfires, bushfires and bushfires! The question remains, why didn't we do this years ago!
To the well travelled OT's - can you recommend accommodation in Amritsar. Budget wise we'd like something in the 1900/2000 Rps area with a private bathroom.
X-Ref on India
Many thanks
Barbara
