I have a mind to try and get to see the passion play this year, and wondered if anyone wanted to get together on this one.

I am female, in my forties living in London and would be looking to do a short trip on a budget (as always!). Probably just as well to mention I am not a Christian and would be attending as a interested visitor.

kind regards

m

Just heard from my neighbour:-
'No point. Everywhere is just the same. You might as well stay at home.'
What other reasons have you heard?
(To be fair he was talking about the UK - but even so!)

Does anyone here have a trip report to share on an independent visit to Japan in the Spring. Or a really good small group tour to recommend. We will be travelling to and from LA as we are snowbirding in the Southern US again this winter. Thanks for any response. Sue

Mid August and it's already cooling off here in western Canada. One more two-week road trip planned for the west coast of Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast. But that will be it for 2009. Hopefully 2010 will bring a 4-5 month road trip down through Mexico then up the east coast and across Canada.

BUT the trip I'll really be starting to dream and plan for is a road trip through South America. There is not a lot written about this but I know there are blogs being written because on our own…

I just did a quick trip up to Alice Springs and seeing how its a bit quit on here I will had a small travel report:

Cost of Ticket:

Melbourne Alice Springs $600.00 return. Tiger Airways were offering it at about the 300 dollar mark but I still don't trust them not to cancel and as I was on a short timeframe I couldn't risk it.

Accommodation:

MrsV2 is working their so that was taken care of but their is a choice btween backpackers up to 5 star at a Casino. $80.00 for a single per night was…

I'm going to spend September and October in Europe. All of September I'll spend in a little Tuscan village called Partina---first alone for a week and then entertaining friends for the rest of the month. I'll stay in my son-in-law's (empty) house there. In October I'll train up to Venice, then bus/ferry down the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, ending in Dubrovnik. I hope it won't be too cold. Does anybody have any special suggestions/tips?

Sept-Oct in Thailand (mostly north)
Hi Everyone,I have a couple of questions and hope you can help...
Have 2 weeks at end of Sept/early Oct and would love to spend some time in Bangkok, River Kwai and most of the time around Chang Mai and the north. Am worried about the weather at this time and wondering if it will be too wet, thus making the trip uncomfortable?
Can you recommend any reputable tour companies/guides where we can hook up tours once we arrive instead of booking here in Oz and paying…

Does anyone know if there is a site that wold enable a small group or a family to do their own itinerary of Europe (or anywhere else for that matter) and then have a guided tour of the selected area. I know there is a bunch of them when you can select your hotel and rent a car and so forth but you still end up with a bunch of vouchers and you are still ther one to drive, check in, to look for the sights.. etc. This is about escorted tour which you yourself (and your companioins) can put…

I am heading to Europe soon and considering the possibility of using a rail pass. I have been told if you cross a border i.e. travel from Munich to Vienna this is considered as 2 journeys.

Has anyone here had experience with a pass as opposed to point to point tickets. Any input will be appreciated
