When we grew old,
Our future begins to shrink,
Out past is getting longer,
It's then we begin to think.

Where has my life gone,
I only have me to blame,
If I had my life to live over,
I'd not live that way again.

I'd live for every minute,
Feel the grass beneath my feet,
I'd live life to the very limit,
I'd laugh and cry, then sleep.

Then awake with renewed courage,
More risks I'd gladly take,
Living out my wildest dreams,
Make the ground beneath me shake.

I would want my children to remember,
Not have…

Husband and I are interested in taking a trip on the Soren Larsen or equivalent. With the Soren Larsen we are looking at 2 sections of their South Pacific program - Vanuatu to New Caledonia (10 days) and New Caledonia via Lord Howe to Sydney (18 days).

Interested in feedback and advice from anybody who has either sailed on the Soren Larsen or equivalent. I am particularly interested in what conditions would be like with the blue water component of the sail - that down to Sydney. I would also be…

Hi

For someone who was anxious about travelling and who nearly pulled the plug, I am now having so much fun that I don't want to head back home. Each day brings a fresh adventure that I look forward to waking up and wondering what the day will bring. Still in Penang and meeting with people that I have met on the online forum. The wonderful thing is that some of these people are going to be life long friends.

Most are Aussie expats but there are a couple of Brits thrown in, some locals even…

"Friends, Romans, Countrymen----" I addressed my audience in the 4th century BC theatre at Delphi (my audience = 0) from the stage which was no doubt graced by famous Greek actors 24 centuries ago. Yes, I'm in the wrong era, but 'it's close enough for government work' as Mike used to say when I worked at Kaiser in CA. Along with the theatre at ancient Delphi, I visited the stadium and lots of treasuries as I strode up the Sacred Way to the Temple of Apollo to see what the Oracle of Delphi had…

Hi

Yes I need help. Im in the UK and Im bored. Here I am at work wishing my life away - that can't be right. In my youth I was an avid traveller and travelled through africa and europe. Now I seem to be trapped with nothing but dreams and wishes (im 56 and now single).

How do people break these ties. What are the first steps? Give up my job? Sell my house? Wait till im retired ( and with the state of affairs in this country we will never get to retire - just die on the job) How do people fund…

Hi Everyone,

A friend and I have an opportunity to spend a bit of time at a cottage in the Gothenberg area next summer. It seems very appealing except for what I have been led to believe are outrageous costs in travelling in that area. Both of us are mature Canadians (60's) who are most comfortable in a backpacking/budget style of travel. Interests include culture, museums, natural history (especially birding). Once over there, we thought it would be a good opportunity to take a Baltic cruise.

Hi

We are off to Madeira for a week walking, snorkelling and swimming (assuming the water is not too cold).

It is then a flight to Lisbon and a train to Portimao for a kayaking trip and a rest.

We have been doing up a cottage for 3 years and have just finished so feel the need to start travelling around again, not far but it is good to be on the move again.

Ant tips on the water or snorkelling this area would be helpful as would any good local eateries in funchal.

I was logged in as ericf.

Between tours of both north and south India, I find myself with 8 days to spend, including travel time, between Mumbai and Kochi. I'm a woman in my 60s who likes snorkeling, yoga, architecture, sketching and photography, small villages rather than cities. Bus/train/plane travel OK--I'm a fairly adventurous traveler although with a rollerbag, not a backpack. Any suggestions?

My husband and I are thinking of taking my parents, who are in their 60s and are quite sendentary (both have health problems that limit their mobility to short walks), on a cruise to someplace warm in January 2011. The rub is that my husband and I are the opposite of sendentary - our last trip in the Caribbean was cycling 1200km around part of Cuba. We will be travelling from Canada and are hoping to find some sort of cruise that might appeal to both my parents and to us. I'm looking for…
