| suzanneschuelke18:59 UTC19 Oct 2007 | I love your stories Dave. Look forward to everyone one - I don't imagine I'll ever make it to Mali since I'm not interested in the tour route and don't think I have the endurance for your way. But I sure do love reading about it.

| secretcover107:55 UTC21 Oct 2007 | Dave,
Thanks! One of these days I would love to buy you a beer and hear about all the small stuff not in your reports. You make me think of all the things I wanted to do when I was younger but didn't. Oh well. Thank you for letting me live them through you.

| canayjun09:30 UTC26 Oct 2007 | omigod!!! i wonder if they got stung by the same little bastard who scammed me in timbuctu!!! that bastard ali baba!! I paid for first class ride in the front seat of an air conditioned 4WD back to Mopti, and got a beat up battered non air conditioned vehicle, and was told i was to sit in the back (front seats are more expensive) After a major hissy fit (in english i fear), and telling them how much i had paid the guide for the seat, i was allowed to share the front seat with a kind French man, who with his buddy had been sold it as well. Then we tore around town looking for Ali Baba....who was awakened from sleep, dragged to the street, roundly berated by the driver, and forced to hand over more money to the driver!
