Thanks for the tips.

I hope to sign up for some temp work......that should take care of the uncomfortable feeling of depending on hubby to fund travel. I have also looked at volunteering which will hopefully increase the chances of meeting people who share similar interests and hobbies.

As for indulging in love of food and wine.....that has always been my favourite past time, hence the need to make regular trips to the gym. It is incredible how one quickly loses flexibility and regain the aches and pains in one's joint after stopping for a period of time. Had to take a panadol with my breakfast this morning. Lol!

Another short trip coming up in February. Have to do some research as soon as I decided where I want to travel after KL.

We use to do trips of 2-3 months. 4 a year. Did this for about 5 years. I lived with my parents, and upon return, had LOTS of stuff to do for them. Hospital trips, fix up the house, taxes, etc. The rest of the time I was planning our next adventure. As mentioned above, I also love the planning part. My parents lived in a small town and there was nothing to do when we were there. It got real boring, so we were glad to head out after 4-8 weeks.

But I have to say, now that we have a new house here in Thailand, the thought of leaving and heading out again is not as interesting. We're busy with projects around here and play badminton every day in the pool. I have also found the expat community to be REALLY active around here. We have things to do 4-5 days/nights every week. Some days, we just say ENOUGH! We need a break! It's completely different from when we lived outside Vegas.

Here was this weeks schedule:
Friday: seafood on the beach with 2 other couples and then dancing until ????.
Saturday: recovery!
Sunday: Lunch with friends on the beach, dinner with neighbors next to our pool.
Monday: Carabao concert!
Tuesday: recovery...and landscaping.
Wednesday: workers here doing landscaping all day
Today: off for lunch in town and some shopping. Movie night tonight.
Friday: Dusit for a sundowner, back to the beach for dinner.

Whew....exhausting. What I love is the cost of eating out is cheap! Dinner for 4, 4 big bottles of Singha, and pretty much all you can eat seafood for $40...all while watching the sunset and being right on the beach.
