Planning ... planning .... look what I've just found -

A Senior Playground
.. free outdoor facility located in the peaceful surroundings of Hyde Park.
The facility includes six pieces of exercise equipment to help users improve core strength, flexibility and balance. Equipment has been selected to ensure that a high level of accessibility, ease of use and enjoyment can be ensured for all users.
The playground has been especially designed for older people to enjoy...

Whoopie! Second childhood here we come !!!

Wow! I will be there and I am certain Julie will be looking forward to that. Ready to flex my muscle which is about the size of a pigeon's egg at the moment but I am still working on it and hopefully, it will grow to a hen's egg soon.

Go_2, Thanks for organising the event. :)

sigh... bit of a commute from here, but i can only wish you good weather!! something i no longer know, would not recognize, if it shone on my face! And we islanders are proud to see that our 'tissup' creation has crossed the atlantic. Zosu and I had a small tearoom tissup here the other day with suzanneschuelke, a refugee from WT and Mr. ss.. Don't know if she posted on OT, but she meets the 'age' requirements.

Maybe we should call this one a 'pic-up' - or would that create an entirely wrong impression?

(Maybe not. We'll just have to see how many handsome bandsmen we can 'pick up' in the park.)

No more takers so far - but if you decide at the last minute, here's the meet-up details: -

Meeting time - around 12 noon.

at - South Kensington tube station on the District (green) line.

When you exit the tube station there's a short arcade so in the (increasingly unlikely) event of rain anyone waiting will stay dry. Wait in the arcade.
(From there it's a short walk (10 minutes or so) to Hyde Park and an even shorter walk to the Natural History Museum, which is free and where we can picnic if it's raining.)

Identification - I'll be most likely bringing a bright yellow with white polka dot shopping trolley with picnic stuff. But if I can ft it all in a shoulder bag, then look out for my other, 'signature' shoulder bag - which is made from Peruvian striped fabric. It's an original; I made it out of a daypack I found in a charity shop. I'm a (natural) blonde, with mid-length hair in a bob style.

Bring your oyster card or day travel card. Unless Hyde Park and the weather agree we might go a-wandering. I found a lovely site full of 'quirky' London places yesterday.

Hey! what is the British or Aussie equivalent of the American duo, Abbott and Costello?

Well, that's me and go_2. lol

go_2, thank you for a wonderful time yesterday as well as today. I had such a great time that not only did I not leave, I stopped over for the night. I could easily be persuaded to stay on except that I needed a change of clothes. Like the Terminator said, "I will be back" and soon. heh heh heh

All together now - "we belong to a mu- tu- al admiration society.."

It turned out to be just the two of us and we are now welded together at the hip (or some place less suggestive).
We can recommend the Senior Playground, for giggles if nothing else. It's worth the effort finding it (you have to go through the fenced-off sports facility, just right of the main road and with views of Big Al to your left, the Shard and London Eye to your right.

The kiddies invaded it as we were leaving, so we threatened to climb all over their jungle gym in the area next door and slide down the kiddie slide. (They didn't seem to care so we didn't bother.)

It was fabulous meeting you, Lee, and having you run your hands all over my leg this morning.
(haha - not what it sounds like, she was applying tiger balm to my just sprained knee which I got as I exuberantly ran after a bus this a,m. on my way to zumba - which of course I couldn't go to after that. So we had another few hours together. Magic!)
