Some of you may remember that a couple of years ago I posted about my (potential) publisher stealing poems I'd given him to publish. I was pretty mad about it at the time. However, his interest did get me going back over some of my older writings, and writing more. Also visiting a poetry site he uses, on a regular basis, just to ensure he doesn't try it on again.
While I was away I saw a notification on the site about the Arvon International Poetry Prize, and decided to enter, as Andrew Motion was the first winner. I wanted to see if my poems actually came up to scratch when judged against top class published poets.
And I've made it onto the shortlist (of 33)!!! Yippee! Prize winners to be announced at the awards evening on 4 November. Of course, I'm going - wild horses wouldn't keep me away. :>))
