This morning the Thorn Tree was normal. This afternoon it has gone crazy. Why spoil a perfectly good format with this horrible setup. Please, puleeeze put it back to the way it was.
We haven't changed the format Shona. Try clearing your cache and any lonelyplanet.com cookies and see if that helps. If it's still being screwy, let me know.
What browser are you using?

Your browser could be the problem.
The new version Lonely Planet 4.1 did not like Explorer on my computer ... I had to change to FireFox and then all was well.
Hi Shona,
There's a good chance it's your browser. We haven't made changes for quite some time.
If you use Google Chrome - they recently upgraded their browser and it's no longer compatible with Thorn Tree. Unfortunately, only a tiny percentage of our members and visitors are using Chrome so it'll probably be a little while before we change lonelyplanet.com to make it compatible.
Current versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox should be just fine.
That's the answer then. My new browser which just happens to be Google Chrome. I had Firefox before and everything was ok. What I am getting now is just black and white print all jammed up on the left hand side and very hard to unravel, and completely unintelligible.
Does your answer mean that I have to endure this until LP catches up with Google Chrome?
O Lordy!
Thanks all for answering anyway.
It's a law of averages thing.
Such a teensy proportion of our website visitors use Chrome, that it isn't a high priority for us to do a lot of work to upgrade to accomodate them just yet. It's an endless (but important) game to stay up to date with the latest updates to the many different browsers out there. I really dig Chrome too, but you could argue that it's also up to them to ensure their users can enjoy the majority of the web :-) Chrome worked fine with Thorn Tree until very recently. We had a few Chrome users write in who were quite unhappy that they had been forced into a browser upgrade that broke the layout of their favourite forum. They've reverted to the latest versions of other browsers.
As Spock says in Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan, "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" when making priorities is concerned.
Of course, if the numbers of people accessing Thorn Tree via Chome spike off the charts, we'll start tinkering much sooner!
Thanks Vanessa, guess I'll just have to wait.
Actually, I have found that I can get into TT from Internet Explorer and it is in the usual format (thank goodness) and I can read it, but it will not allow me to sign in.
Sorry to be such a bore, guys, but this is really important to me.
Not a bore. That's really odd, it lets others in. Can you let me know if you're getting an error message and what that is? It might be something non-browser related. Send an email to community@lonelyplanet.com with the details if you'd rather not post them publicly. It's helpful to know your setup (what browser, operating system, etc), any and all error messages you might be seeing, and if you can take a screenshot and attach that to the email, that's super useful for our developers.
