Have tickets for the Shuttle Launch at the Kennedy Space Station Visitor Center. Has anyone been there...done that???? What did you think? Is there a better place to see the launch?
thanks,
D.A.

Never been there, but I was 10 miles away during one launch and it was spectacular. Go for it!

I've been to the Space Centre and it was great - really enjoyable day. Watched the shuttle launch from the parking lot in our hotel and it was magnificent - no idea if it is better from the Space Centre. When we were there the launch was at 4 am so would not have wanted to trundle out to space centre - which is quite some distance from town.

Thanks for the info.

Regarding cancelled launch:

If the launch date moves or delays prior to your arrival at Kennedy Space Center: tickets are mission specific, not date specific, the tickets are good for the next launch attempt.

If the launch date moves or is delayed after you have arrived at Kennedy Space Center: your used Admission badge will be valid for a limited admission for subsequent launch attempts within the launch window (Oct 23-Nov 13 for the STS-120 Discovery)

Hope you enjoyed it Dad as much as I did watching .It seemed a good launch.

We saw the launch of Discovery(sadly no more) in Mission STS 3 in March 1982.

Oh no I am getting old!
