The Geralda cathedral is the 2nd or 3rd largest in Christendom. I call it the spiritual blimp hangar.

Pitty is, they have so much roped off.

The chapel, in the next front door, is bigger than any sanctuary I've been in.

Take a taxi to your hotel, the first time. So you'll find it. And can get your barings from there.

Always get a little area map or bisiness card from your hotel upon signing in.

Did I say? Stay at Triana Backpackers You can find them on the hostelbookers site
.
It's the accredited camino hostel and can stamp your accreditation. Also a very nice traditional Andalusian house. With hammocks and a large jacuzzi on the roof!
Loads of walkers stay there - nearly everyone who uses the hostel - and they start breakfast from 7.00am (stuff's ready even before then) so you've time to eat before setting off unless you want to go very, very early.

Gawkabout/go_2 - thanks for the extra updates. One clarification as I will not be starting my "actual Camino walk" until Merida I am not intending to stay in Triana (although I did get an excellent report on them from a fellow Aussie and may drop in to see who is already ahead, on the Camino and for latest updates etc. But yes I will probably will take a taxi the first time to the hotel - although I think my train gets in a little after 2 pm so that should give me time to explore as I walk from the station to the hotel. Cheers.

Pride is top of the list, of the 7 deadly sins.

You've got one hellova walk from train to Triana bp'rs hostel.

And Sevilla afternoons get hotter than a Mexican plate lunch!
