Have just gone through my private messages before they are gone for ever. Certainly brought back some memories. Some were over eight years old. Some names are still on this site, some are long gone. I've met some people as a result of these messages. Some signed up to my travel blog, and are still on the address list, though they've probably changed addresses so no longer get the update emails.

You're fortunate your PMs went back so far. I, and several others, were not so lucky, my list only went back 2 years when in fact it should have been over 8 years, so I've completely lost the majority of my PM correspondence. Same with my thread count, now it is only showing that I've made about 350 posts when it should be well over 2,000. Word is that they can't be bothered to re-load anything more from the archives.

Aaaarrgghh!! If I had realised they were all going to disappear, I would have made a point of swapping email addresses with several people.
As it happens, I would like to make contact with Pete, the English cycle tourer who at one stage setteld in northern China ( amy still be there for all I know.) I have just scrolled through likely posts on the cycling thread to see if I can find him, but can't. If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful. (I can't remember what his LP nae was, but his real name was Pete.) Many thanks.
