Hi did you travel on the train. What class. I thought we would book to sleepers upper & lower Not the cabin bedroom. If you went on the train any hints to assist with the trip.

i recentlyl travelled with waltztingmatilda by train to Churchill, and we had berths, not roomettes and they are perfectly fine. unless one of you is a good climber, i suggest getting two lowers. Also, in the lower, you have a window, and its fun to see the towns clicking by. I don't know about the cross canada train, but on our trip all the meals were included, and they were fine. I would second the suggestion to rent a car to calgary. Much more enjoyable and interesting, and then take the train from calgary.
