Hi, all, I couldn't find a site for Bali so thought I would try here. Has anyone used their 'free' holiday to the Peninsula Hotel in Bali?
We went along to the tour just to have a look and get our 'gifts'. Folk ahead of us got t shirts and vouchers, we got a free week. Apparently we need to book this 45 days before we want to go. They do have a very official looking website and we have a number to quote when we want to book this free week. Just wondering has anyone actually had this free week and is it Kosher.
thanks for any feed back.
Trish
Beware! There is seldom anything "free" in this world. Sounds like a "come on" for a time share deal. Be tough when you go. In these tough economic times, the sales people and crooks out there are working harder and harder to get your money away from you. Good luck.
Bali is in Indonesia so you could try the SE Asia Islands forum.
If you Google the Peninsula Hotel Bali it comes up with lots of things.
The resort is in Nusa Dua which is right on the southern most tip of Bali.
It looks like a superb luxurious place. It might be just what you are accustomed to ... or not! Either way I'd be as wary as Packerjohn suggests!
Actually it is all a timeshare scam. Have a look here
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Better sooner rather than later.
Although I have time-share too and find it suits my requirements perfectly, my wife and I went along to a presentation recently and came away with two vouchers for a free cruise to the Bahamas - from Florida I presume. As I am nowhere near the USA my Bahamas cruise is but a pipe dream, but we lost nothing by attending the presentation. The catch is that one has to get to the place where one can use the prize, at one's own expense. Of course, the time-share week would probably be accommodation only, so any meals would also be at your expense.
Next week I leave for a time-share mid-week break at the coast and I have booked another 5 mid-week breaks at various resorts for various dates during the rest of this year - 2 of them are completely free bonus breaks. Basically what I am saying is that although it is a prize obtained at a time-share presentation it need not be a scam - but look at the other costs that you will have to incur to make use of the prize.
Thanks, all. Yes, Rudik I did speak to a friend who did much the same thing, and is off to Fiji for her freebie next week. That, from Perth (Aus) is a bit extreme as the flights are pretty costly. From here flights to Bali are not too expensive though one can usually get a package deal for the cost of a flight only. Given all the info here I will go ahead later in the year and see how we go. Thanks Helen for the link, it was an interesting read. Still have not found anyone who has taken up the offer!! Darn. Ah, well if I do go I shall post on here how I get on!

Every "free" gift should be viewed suspicious IF it is something that appears to be worth a great deal of money (more than say, U.S. $ 100).
