Full information... as in the full text of the travel advisory ? I wouldn´t agree on a number of points , but the German travel advisory says that is an option to go Srinagar , and Srinagar only. And this is the present most positive official advice you´ll find :

UK travel advice says : "We advise against all travel to rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir other than Ladakh" .."We advise against all but essential travel to Srinagar"* ..This the same wording you´ll find from other EU countries , including mine.

US State Department : "The Department of State strongly recommends that you avoid travel to the state of Jammu & Kashmir (with the exception of visits to the eastern Ladakh region and its capital, Leh) because of the potential for terrorist incidents, as well as violent public unrest. U.S. government employees are prohibited from traveling to Jammu & Kashmir..."*

After all these years you still can´t get my name right .. or read the supplied links : State Department does not advise it´s citizens against going to India in it´s latest travel alert, nor does the British FO (or any other european FO , to my knowledge ). There is a difference between advising exercising caution , and advising against travel .
