I have 10 hours between flights and wanted to explore Dubai. Anyone have any suggestions of things I can do to make to most of my time, and is it worth renting a car? Want a mix of old and new Dubai if possible. Thanks.

Does anyone know of a site which gives a list of all countries which will give you crap and not let you in to the country if you've got an israel stamp or entered on a land border that can only be having exited Israel?

I have seen that it is nigh on impossible to get to Saudi Arabia without being a muslim, so with that being the case it would appear it is almost impossible to get to surrounding places without a flight.

Is their any ferry, hydrofoil or cheap flights that leave from Iran giving a way to see the part of the Middle East surrounding Saudi Arabia like United Arab Emirates, Yemen or Oman? When the hell are Saudi Arabia going to stop being such a pain in the arse to tourists after all any tourists…

I am trying to plan my next big adventure which I plan on making bigger than the others so far. I would like to land somewhere in Asia maybe Bangkok and then possibly make my way up to Beijing and then get the train to Mongolia. I'd then like to make my way overland through many countries in Asia and on to the Middle East. Maybe an itinerary such as: China-Mongolia-China-Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and on to Egypt…

We will be travelling through Oman shortly and stay in Muscat
for about 2 days. As there seems to be a quite large Indian community
I hope to be able to buy some old Indian Film Music on CD or DVD.
Do you know some good shops to go to ?
Which one might be the best ?

Can anyone who recently (last 6 months) travelled to Iran on an Australian passport please tell me how they managed to get hold of someone from the Iranian embassy in Canberra? It seems an impossible feat.

Does anyone know bus schedule from Salalah to Al Ghaydah? And also, I heard that there's shared(public?) taxi from Salalah to Al Ghaydah. If someone knows price and frequency, please tell.

I have an option of overnighting in Aden on the way from Hadramaut to Taiz/Ibb (I'll be flying there from Al Mukalla/Ryain) and having a brief look around. Is the place worth it ? Or would it be better to go straight into the mountains, bypassing Aden (this is my inclination).
