Is it dangerous to sleep in the car in Muscat area? or if someone knows a good parking to do it, please tell me.

Re. Mar Saba Monastery not far from Bethlehem. Can a touring motorcoach with 40 pax get down that road to view, I repeat, view it. Also I understand terrific views of surrounding areas. No internal visit planned as women not permitted. thanks, gemla

I tried iranianvisa.com last year, but as I said - no success. I am British, and would be applying to the London Consulate.

How easy/difficult is it for us to get visas? both from the u.k.

How difficult will it be for me as a woman?? I have been to india a couple of times, for long periods. Will It be similar with staring? western women being viewed as easy (not by all indians i might add!!)

I crossed the border via service taxi from aleppo to damascus with a Japanese woman who had no visa. It was the end of the day (~17:30) and you could tell the immigration guys just wanted to get out of there... She paid 24 JD and got her visa in less than 15 minutes.

i wouldn't recommend trying it if you don't have to - and i'm not sure it would work for me because i'm american- but i've heard stories of other folks getting visas at the syrian border, some with 1-2…

I have been reading (and enjoying)this branch for a few months, as I am hoping to go to Lebanon ,possibly in the summer, (but maybe next year). I get the feeling I am older(I'm in my late 30's) than most of the people here , so please bear with me if I seem a timid traveler. I earlier asked a question on how to go to the West Bank part of the Dead Sea shoreline and got a lot of good advice. Due to the very recent turmoil in some parts of the West Bank (Nablus etc) I'd like to know if it's still advisabel and practically doable to visit the West Bank as a western tourist? I'm planning to go on a bus from eastern Jerusalem - I'm thinking on problems with border checks in and out of the WB.
