I'm a well travelled Aussie. I've been to many Arabic countries and Asian countries and loved them and the people there.

I've just arrived in jordan for the first time and I am experiencing somewhat of a ripoff in some of the prices. I checked the Lonley Planet which said for example, that Private taxi fares would only be 1 JD from the airport in Aqaba to the town centre. On arriving I knew what to expect. I was shocked when they said 10 JD! I just said no. One driver told me I should walk…

I am looking at using Bunnik Tours for a 2 week Egypt holiday

Does anyone have any experience with these guys? Are they any good?

Coming from Turkey with train or bus. Which is the quickest way to Orumyieh? I want to be there up to one week, after that going to Tehran, also the quickest way.

I will be on a tour in Iran later this year. I will be there a few days before the tour starts and, because I am an American, I have been assigned a "guide". Has anyone had any experience
with an assigned guide? Thanks for any information.

We are going to travel to Iran next week and we're very much looking forward to it.
But...
1)...do you think it is difficult to travel independently as a small group of two men and one girl who are not related to each other? - as it is unusual there, and will cause problems?

2)...would it be better, if one boy and one girl would wear a wedding-ring, pretending to be married?

3)...as two of us are actually a couple, but not married, and also not named "accompanied by..." in the other's tourist…

We are visiting Yemen on 20th April, 3wks.
We thought of hiring travelagents taxi for 2 wks/900$, but then it is said that public trans. is cheap in Yemen.
Now i have some Qs:
1. is it reasonable to travel to Sayun on ourselves and take taxi to go round that area and return to Sana? Could we get taxi to go down to Wadi also?
The idea is to see Sayun&Co. and Wadi-H and return to Sana

2. Some good beach on any Sea?
3. How is independent getting to Shiharah?
4. What are interesting trekks round…
