I am interested to travel to Middle East for about 10 days. I have been to 4 countries alone so I don't have so much experience :-) I am not really interested to go to UAE, since there are so many tourists..

I plan to travel to Oman via UAE and I wonder which border crossings are open for foreigners in Al Ain area. I've read only Khatm Al Shakla and Hafeet are open to non-GCC nationals while Buraimi and Hili are only for Gulf countries citizens, could anybody confirm it?
as well I need to know if is applicable a mandatory exit tax from UAE, how much is and if is only for the land borders crossings or also for outbound flights?

After visiting the BK for sunset viewing I was curious what suggestions for the best viewing of the Fountains? In addition to tickets to Burj Khalifa, they also offer fountain boardwalk tickets. Curious to understand what the fountain boardwalk is?

I have a 4 hr layover in Doha. Was wondering if it is possible & worthwhile to do a quick trip to Souq Waqif and back in time for my flight.

I get in around 11.30hrs, and my on-going flight is at 15.25 hrs. I am assuming 1 hr for me to de-board and clear immigration and if I consider I have to get back by 14.15. That leaves me with close to 2 hours to get to Souq Waqif and back.

Any thoughts ?

Hey guys, I'm thinking about a long stopover in Doha since Qatar airways is offering a free hotel, anyone know do the exchange offices at the airport offer fair rates, or is it better to use an ATM to get local currency? Also can I take bus 119 to the city and back to the airport at 6:00 am the following morning
