Hi,
I'll be travelling to the UAE soon, and planning to go to Oman from Dubai.

I'm looking for plane tickets now to arrive in the UAE and I'm a bit lost.

Tickets to Sharjah are cheaper, but it seems you need a return tickets to obtain a visa to visit UAE after entering through Sharjah?

Whats the best way to do if you are travelling first to UAE, then leaving via Oman?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Folks.

Can anyone possibly give me some info on traveling by bus from Muscat (Ruwi) across the border to Dubai ?

I believe that visa's for Dubai (for Australian citizens) and others easily are available at the border ? Is this the case ?

Any info is much appreciated. Cheers.

Hi folks.

Arriving in Muscat next month - November, for 5 days.

Can someone enlighten me as to the ease (or otherwise) of buying alcohol to drink back in hotel room and drinking alcohol in bars (if any) and/or hotels ?

Which hotels would serve alcohol ?

After a hard day sightseeing I really enjoy a few cold beers and not too sure how that is going to happen.

Any info very much appreciated.

Does anybody know, if there are hotels or guesthouses in Rineh or Polour? This dormitory camp in Polour I found, but I would like to stay somewhere in a private room. It can be basic. I don't have big needs.

Is there a public bus in this direction?

Hi, I am a solo American female travelling to Erbil and then want to fly (roundtrip) to Najaf for ~1/2 days in early January. I want to know about the safety situation. I have travelled extensively alone all over, so have a ton of experience in other more 'questionable' countries. Please advise. I would love to see the south of Iraq but if I need to get a visa or have to book an expensive tour, I won't go.

Thank you.

Hi, I traveled in Iran several years ago (pre-Trump) and found that the people loved Americans. My wife and I, Americans, were warmly welcomed everywhere. Have any recent visitors, especially Americans, had experience as to whether this is still true, especially in the current political situation. Thanks.

Hello. I'm planning to visit Lebanon in may.
I checked lots of destinations and places to sleep; batroun, tyre, Beirut, Tripoli, chouf...
I'm planning to visit the bekaa, tanayel, some wine tours, balbeck and maybe hermel the river, but I cant seem to find a cheap place to sleep near balbeck.
Is it doable and safe? would you recommend any place? is it worth sleeping in the bekaa, since it's a long distance from Beirut? thank you!

Hi all,

I'm planning to visit Israel and Jordan over Easter next year with my bf. We started planning and think we are sorted for the Israel part (enough info on transport) but we struggle a bit to find info about transport in Jordan.

We will be staying in Jordan from end of April to beginning of May more or less (flight back is from Tel Aviv on 5th).

Here is the plan:

-Arrive in Aqaba after crossing the border around 2pm and make our way to Wadi Rum. I read many things about transport on…

Hello everyone, i will be in Jordan in about 15 days' time. I have been doing some research and it seems to me that the costs there can be very high as far as transport is concerned.

I will be flying in from Turkey.
I think i can fly into Aqaba, visit the red sea, then wadi rum, petra, dead sea and fly out from Amman, or vice versa.
Are there direct buses from each of my stop point? (apparently there is no direct bus from petra to the dead sea, or to amman airport.) Must i really take an…
