I'm getting desperate, because I've already contacted many travel agents, hotels and airlines in Bahrain about my need for a sponsor for a tourist visa, but nobody seems to be interested in helping me !

I will be in dubai for some days and i want to do diving. I am an advanced open water diver but not with lots of experience but i any case i don't want do only the touristic tour look around...! Do anyone knows any good company to go with?

My friend and I are stopping in Dubai for 3 nights but I've heard several horror stories about the strict laws there. I'm not too worried as I am sure I can stay withing the law!

But I just wanted to check if there are any laws I should know? i.e. is swim wear allowed on beaches? Do I only need to cover up (I am female by the way!) if I enter a Mosque? i.e. I am ok to walk the streets in shorts and a vest? And I have medication that I will carry with me, will a doctors note be ok to…

Does anyone have any experience with a car rented in Dubai and then driven into Oman? We want to pop over to Oman for a couple of days and would like to hear any recommendations on rental companies who allow their vehicles to go to Oman and how much extra insurance this is going to require.

Also, any problems with getting a UAE entry visa and coming back into UAE after 2 or 3 days or do we need some kind of multi entry visa?

Where could I find a decent local seafood restaurant in Dubai please ? Not in an international hotel chain but somewhere where locals in the know go?

I'll be visiting Dubai in May 2010. I can stay at the Jebel Ali Palm Tree Court hotel for free, but I'm afraid the food and drinks in the hotel are very expensive. Is there any place near the hotel where I can have a cheap but good dinner or lunch? And what's the best way to get into town? Should I take a bus or a taxi? And what are the fares approximately?

Could anyone give some advise for nice places to eat in Dubai city centre as well? And how's the Dubai nightlife :)?

I'll be flying via DXB and will have 3 hours stopover. Is this enough to get out of the terminal, meet a friend outside (even if just for 1 hr), and get back in time for the flight? How much time would I get?

- this will be at nighttime - arr from midnight, dep again at 3 a.m.
- I'll be arriving from London, and fly on to Islamabad - how early do I need to be back in again?
- I hold a EU passport re visa.

I want to visit two friends in the Emirates region - one in Abu Dabai and the other in Doha, Qatar. Is there any land transport connection between the two? I can't seem to find any cheap flights. Any suggestions. Thanks
