I will be reaching Dubai on 18 November at 11:40 pm in Terminal 1 and my next connecting flight fromTerminal 3 is on the following evening (19 Nov) at 10:00 pm. Can any of you suggest a cozy safe decent place for me to spend the time. I donot need any fancy place

She wants to find a good hair salon she needs to do some coloring and straightening and all of that, God knows once she goes in there she wants to do all of it, which salon would u recommend in Dubai? Price not being the criteria (for her!) i would appreciate your suggestions. Any of the top end salons names would be great.
Also, it would be great to know of your salon experiences in dubai.

The Immigration / Security in Dubai seems to have been significantly tightened up of late. Someone I know who flew in two days ago (Male under 30 / White / British) was sent to the airport security by the Immigration officer as his passport photograph did not resemble him. He said that there were plenty of people along with him of all nationalities. He showed a recent drivers license with a new photo which they accepted as a second proof of identification.

From memory, when changing flights in Dubai, you have to go through security whereby if you have a bottle of water/coke etc over 100ml you have to hand it in. Is that still the case? It's only a 3 hour transit.
I'll also have some duty free items from Melbourne as hand luggage. I can't remember the what happens to those. Any information appreciated.

I am considering to spend a holiday in dubai with my little baby, but i am a little bit confused after reading an article about dirty water of sea there (from bad sewage system) and some health problem of people from it. Is it a problem there ? Isnt the water better further from Dubai (for example in Sharjah) ? Thanks for every information.

We will be transiting Dubai in a coulple of days- for about 5 hours I think. Just a question , I note there is concern about prescribed medication. I will visit Dubai with my friend. That is ok but the only problem is how to get a taxi with lift for a wheelchair. Please tell me www-pages and phone# where I can get more information. Our hotel is located in Bur Dubai, near metro. How is travelling in metro with wheelchair and please tell me things that we shall think before it is too late.

Where in Dubai ( exact location please, if you know) should i look for Chinese mobile phones including but not limited to I-phone replicas and so-called TV-Phones. I seriously doubt they are sold at fancy shopping malls there. there must be some big markets there where they are sold. Thanks.Amir
