I am going to visit my Indian girlfriend in Dubai and Sharjah. She is working there. We are planing 2 stay together in one hotel room. we are not married yet. i am looking western, she is looking east asian. We are wondering if this is ok to do?

Just in case you should let her do all the check in stuff and give her your bags then she can head to the room, wait awhile and go on up after the bell boy leaves,once you are checked in most hotels don't care who you are and if you are western looking[good or bad]you are less likely anybody will say anything just walk in like you own the place every time..
They most likely not say anything but it is Sharjah so why take a chance. You can't leave together in a regular house/Apt here but I am not sure about sharing a hotel room.

i can't tell much about sharjah, but dubai you won't have any problems staying together in most of the hotels............ there are many hotels in diera and bur-dubai where you both can stay......

Dubai (and Abu Dhabi) are much more liberal in this regard and the rules are routinely flouted. Can't speak for Sharjah, but at least you know the official line.

Seriously, if you are clearly of different races, then avoid Sharjah for accommodation. It wont be an issue in Dubai, but Sharjah has much stricter "morality" laws, and its asking for trouble. Even if you dont attract the attention of the police, the hotel staff will make assumptions about your relationship (white man, asian woman) that can lead to some nasty treatment for your partner.

I know this forum is not a place for religious or political discussion but i must say that the Sharia low makes it difficult to meet my friend. I will not take the chance that can lead to some nasty treatment to her. I Have Been knowing her for 5 years! we lived together for a longtime and now we cannot stay at the same room .....
