Can someone explain what this text means? From Omani Government:

COMMON VISA FACILITY WITH THE STATE OF QATAR

In accordance with the Sultanate of Oman’s and State of Qatar’s governments endeavours to promote tourism between both countries, both governments have agreed to facilitate the tourist exchange through the issuance of joint entry visas for the countries mentioned in the list number (1). The visa shall be considered as cancelled in case the tourist enters another country (third party) prior to his arrival to the Sultanate. In this case he has to obtain a new tourist visa from the Sultanate’s Embassies or at his arrival at the Sultanate’s airports with a fee of (10) Omani Riyals, in case he intends to enter the State of Qatar on condition that he doesn’t enter another country (third party) prior to his arrival to the State of Qatar.

Qatar Government says)

Joint Tourist Visa
Top of Form
Bottom of Form
Topics: Visa, Passport and Official Documents
Audience: Visitors
Citizens of 33 approved countries may apply for a joint tourist visa, which allows them to travel freely between Qatar and Oman.
The visa is issued upon arrival at the airport or border of Qatar. Travelers may apply online for the visa ahead of time

When I speak to Qatar Embassy I was advised that you can travel to Oman and does not matter where your where in the world you come from. If you have a valid visa you can visit Oman or Qatar at any time when your visa is valid.

I need your point of view LP:

This summer I will be visiting Dubai & Oman I wanted to know will my joint visa be valid. Qatar Government says Yes – but Omanis I am not sure) Joint visa is partnership with both Governments.

yes, this means you can visit oman with free visa if you have been to qatar. however, they prefer that you are going from qatar to oman "directly", as they say in your post "The visa shall be considered as cancelled in case the tourist enters another country (third party) prior to his arrival to the Sultanate."

at doha airport, i paid for the qatar visa and a stamp that said "allowed to enter sultanate of oman".

i arrived in muscat airport, showed them the stamp, and they gave me a free tourist visa. they did ask me why i flew from DXB, so i had to explain that that was just a transfer. they agreed that was okay.

best to keep all your boarding passes and stuff when you arrive in muscat to prove how you flew from doha to muscat.

Yodaa

This morning I have spoken with Qatar Government Call Centre regarding this issue.

I was told that Qatar Online Visa is like getting Qatar Stamp on your passport at the airport but the only difference is that you have paper stating you have a visa.

Regarding entering another countries that is not valid on my case for me simple, because the Visa was issued and payment was made. The online visa issued by the Ministry of Interior so hopeful when do visit oman via land, I should have valid visa and omani should stamp my passport.

Few years go I had online visa with Bahrain – and I went Bahrain I got my passport stamped.

If you're visiting Oman by land, then I assume you're entering from UAE, which means that you have entered a third country between visiting Qatar and Oman, which invalidates the joint visa. It only works if you fly direct from Qatar to Oman.

But Catepillar

When I spoken with Qatari Embassy they told me that Online Visa will be valid and also Qatar Government Call Centre.

I have informed that I will be visiting Dubai then Oman with Joint Visa which thay reassured me that my visa will be valid you will not have any problems, because it was State of Qatar that issued the visa.

Qatar Government call Center stated you have will have advance visa which will allow you enter - Online visa is like having stamp on your passport and does not matter which part of the world you come from first your visa will be valid.

But the people at the Qatari authorities can tell you anything they like. Its nothing to do with them, and they have no experience of what the Omanis will do at all. Talk to the Omani authorities. The critical question is what the Omani immigration people think, and this is fairly clear:

The visa shall be considered as cancelled in case the tourist enters another country (third party) prior to his arrival to the Sultanate.

I've never tried to do this so I might be wrong, but I don't believe that you will get into Oman by road this way.

I have been in touch with Omani authorities i am waiting for a reply back to confirm their agreement with authorities Qatar and if i am allowed to use the Joint Visa.

I also have sent correspondence with Qatari authorities on what Omanis have said regarding their shared agreement with the Joint Visa - hopeful I will get a confirmation soon from them.

If things don't go plan then I will still have my 3 weeks valid Dubai Visa, which for sure will let me in Omani over the land border.

  • I am UK national I will easy get visa on all ports in Oman

you need to make it clear to omanis that you will be entering from dubai.

even if they say you can use the qatar stamp when entering from dubai border, bring extra money for the visa just in case. the omani at the border crossing on that day will be the one deciding, not someone at an office in muscat.
