I will be spending a couple of nights in Dubai on my way back from Africa at the end of September. I've flown through Dubai several times, but this will be my first time spending any time there, so I was hoping to get some recommendations for reasonable accommodation there. Also, any recommendations for things to do would be much appreciated as well. Thanks much in advance!

Valid point - I should have been clearer. I think I was emphasizing cost, but yes, the bottom line is not cost. I would like something, if it's not totally crazy, around $100 or so (or a bit more, or certainly less if that's possible), but that is nice enough and in a decent location. Is that more helpful? Thanks for the responses so far!
