Upon landing at Sharjah Airport I would like to make my way by bus/metro to Muscat in Oman. Can anyone please advise the best way to do that? Info on location of bus station in Dubai and timetable will be very useful.

i was just reading in the 'live and work: dubai' by explorere publishing that there is a bus to muscat from dubai taking 6 hours and costing 50 dirhams.
that doesn't exactly answer your question, but i thought this info might be useful to know as well.

Bus leaves from Dubai near emirates office close to the airport . From Sharjah you can take bus or taxi to this spot.There are government buses run by ONTC and also private ones. Buses leave frequently during day time. see link below but it is better to check there http://www.omanet.om/english/useful/transport.asp
