Luggage Storage at DXB and Tea at Burj al Arab

I will have a 10 hour layover at Dubai International Airport (DXB) in December enroute from Sana'a, Yemen to USA. I will be arriving into DXB around 1:45 p.m. and I will be flying out around midnight. Presuming that the "30 day no-entry policy" is a myth (still waiting for the final verdict on that one) and I am allowed to leave the airport, I would like to go to the Burj Al Arab hotel for their famous afternoon tea. A few questions:

  1. What time is the afternoon tea? As I understand it, the location of the afternoon tea provides for some breathtaking views of Dubai. Is that correct?

  2. Can I just show up at the hotel or do I need reservations? If I need reservations, is it possible to make it at the airport since I will be going to tea straight from DXB?

  3. Is there luggage storage at DXB? I do not want to lug my luggage to the Burj al Arab. I will only have a relatively small carry on piece if that makes a difference. What is the cost of luggage storage at DXB airport?

Hi, I enquired about the afternoon tea on here recently & with the Burj Al Arab Hotel itself. Here's what i found:-
The 'Indulgent Afternoon Tea' is available in the Sky View Bar (27th floor - great views) between 2pm & 6pm.
It costs 350 AED per person and involves various cakes & sandwiches. (Not enough for a dinner meal though, maybe a late lunch??).
You must book well in advance over their email: www.BAArestaurants@jumeirah.com
There is all sorts of information in the Burj's website: www.burj-al-arab.com
Also note that there are other Afternoon teas available with other names (These are located within the hotel but have no views of Dubai), but if you want the view it has to be the Indulgent Afternoon Tea in the Sky View Bar.

Who are you flying with? Did you book online or with a human being - aka a travel agent? Check out the airline’s stopover brochure and discuss with the airline or the Human Travel Agent that you booked with the possibility of an airline discounted afternoon tea. Also check if the airline you are using has a ‘held luggage’ option for its stopover passengers. IF organised through the airline, the whole lot – including a transfer airport/Burj al Arab/airport AND afternoon tea can be rolled into your airline ticket and you don’t pay any extra other than a tip to the wait staff or the transfer driver.
