Greetings,

Im in the middle of planning a trip home to New Zealand via Dubai for the 7's and also a brief visit to Israel and Jordon. I was wondering how hard or is it possible to enter Dubai with an Israeli stamp in my passport. We are planning on flying london to tel aviv and if possible overland to jordan before flying to Dubai . Assuming that if we go overland then they will have to stamp the actual passport rather then a piece of paper also they will see the jordanian entrance stamp would that stop us getting into dubai.

I have 2 passports British and Nz and was hoping to travel on my British as its due to expire next may also my NZ passport has Iranian, Pakistani and Russian visas which may cause soem trouble.

Thanks in advance

Dubai quietly ignores Israeli stamps, however you may have a problem boarding a flight to Dubai with the stamp as there have been some confusion about it. The best way to avoid it is to take the Royal Jordanian flight Tel Aviv-Amman. Also beware if you plan to cross at Allenby Bridge as Jordan doesn't issue visas there. Iranian and Pakistani visas doesn't disqualify you from entering Israel, but be prepared for long questioning about what you did there etc. The Russian visa shouldn't be a problem at all as Russians can travel visa free to Israel and vice versa. In fact Israel is quite a popular tourist destination for Russians.

No, the Israeli land immigration will stamp a paper if you ask for it.

Into Dubai ? Not at all. Why would you think that?

NZ passport has Iranian, Pakistani and Russian visas

:-) Not problem whatsoever. Plenty of residents and tourists who are from these countries.

#2: Even if the Israelis don't stamp your passport, the Jordanians will, with a nice stamp showing that you crossed at the land border from, um, where???

As #1 says, there is some uncertainty about Dubai's opinion on the matter, and the only way to get round it is to fly from Tel Aviv to Amman.

# 3, I don't get the impression that you are speaking from personal experience. No one in Dubai is going to scrutinize the passport so carefully. As # 1 says, Dubai is reasonably relaxed about Israeli entry visas - even in spite of the recent hoo haa about the incident reg the Hamaas activist / fake passports et all

OP : You may need to recheck if you can travel on your British passport with 1 month validity left. Most countries need a 6 month validity period before issuing the visa. As # 1 says, the Iranian visas may cause problems in Israel (I thought you were referring to Dubai).

Israel doesn't automatically ban anyone based on where they have been. Be prepared for a lot of questioning, but as long as you answer all questions truthfully (assuming you were in Iran solely as a tourist), no matter how irrelevant or stupid they may seem, you will be allowed in.

I don't think there's "some uncertainty about the matter" -- as far as I know Dubai has never refused entry to anyone based on their having an Israeli entry stamp in their passport. The uncertainty is whether Israeli nationals are allowed to travel to Dubai; usually they are, but occasionally they're not.

I have many work colleagues that frequently travel to both Israel and Dubai, using the same passport. None of them have had an issue, I have also travelled on several occasions and never had the airline scrutinise the passport looking for Israeli stamps.

Does anybody have a contact where I can get a defintive answer ?

On what does this 'bloke' base his opinion? Personal experience or just what he thinks is the norm?
I have never heard of anyone being refused entry to UAE because of Israel stamps in one's passport. It has been posted a few times here that the London UAE embassy web site specifically states that Israel stamps are not an issue as far as they are concerned (I haven't checked this out myself).
