Free Accomadation in Dubia, please help

Hi All.

I am a volunteer at a charity bsed in Phuket. www.phukethasbeengoodtous.org www.phukethasbeengoodtous.org/golffoundation/html

My name is Graham Haslam.

I have been promised a number of golf clubs from some of Europes top golfers once they finsihed in Dubai - last event of the year for all those not playing South Africa or Australia. (Goosen, Els, Jimenez, Rose, Quiros)

If you are into golf you will know that most irons and basically ALL wedges currently in use will be banned from 1 January 2010, so these are the clubs I am collecting.

I can justify the cost of the flight but not a hotel + car hire for 6 days. I could really do with a bed/couch somewhere in dubai, ideally near the Jumeraih golf course.

Any questions will be anwsered. I cant book a flight till I have a room confirmed, if you think you can help please let me know by sending me a PM.

I have contacted 12 poeple on couchsuring with no luck, but still trying.

Please dont let this great opportunity to raise money for a great charity go by.

I'd strongly suggest you contact the Sharjah Wanderers Golf Club and see if they could help you out. They're an old school, sand course, which still has a very old school set of members, who are big on the sociability end of things. They might want you to sing for your supper (presentation on what you're doing out in Phuket perhaps, but I'm sure you'd be happy to trade), but they'd be more likely to want to help out than the top end clubs who are all about dosh.

Maybe also give the Jebel Ali Hotel / Golf Course a ring - they should be able to make some mileage out of putting you up for a few nights.

How about sending the golf clubs by parcel from Dubai to Thailand...? That will be 20 to 50 times cheaper than travelling to Dubai to collect them.

hi Gengis that is all great stuff cheers.

Buffy, that would require a pro golfer to package up their clubs, go to the post office, fill in customs forms, PAY for the postage, blah blah. Not going to happen. They have said be at the 18th green, I will hand them to you. Simple. Plus I have an agreement with 4 or 5 players but if I go I hope to get way more people involved.
