Hello all,

I am planning to travel to Dubai in the near future and am wondering what some good spots are, other than the typical locations. I'm interested in food and sports, so any insider info anyone has would be of a great help! Thanks.

you get all kinds of cuisines in dubai.. but try out the diyafa food street (area-satwa), then try out rigga road (area-diera), you have many restaurants and some good food, especially the middle eastern... bur dubai area- (good indian /pakistani food) then you have a lot of hotels having theme restaurants...

for sports .. there's a lot of outdoor sports , but this would be seasonal as the summers here are very warm (40-50 degrees centigrade) and winters ain't that cold ( 15-25 degrees c)..so its very imp as to what time of the year you plan to visit... like for example...in summer you could ski indoors at mall of emirates......

Hiya!

I have been living in Dubai for quite some time now and it is a beautiful city filled with culture, modern designs and a killer nightlife! For newcomers I would definitely recommend that you buy a book called the Entertainer, it has loads of 2 for the price of 1 vouchers so not only will it give you places to go to but you'll also save tons of money while you're here! I’ve been buying it for years and I am a tad frugal so it’s definitely worth it! For food I would definately recommend noodle house - it's one of my absolute favourites!! And Meat co and Biella (italian)! Again they're all in the book! love itt!

Hope that helps!

Dubai Mall is a great place to find different cuisines. If you like Chinese Ping Pong is definitely a great place with great dimsum or you may check my personal blog where we went on my sister's last birthday http://sorren.multiply.com/photos/album/59/A-MAZING_J-ENNYS_B-DAY

For Sports - try to check out Yas Island :) I've never been there honestly but I'll visit it soon http://www.yasisland.ae

You could also try Ski Dubai in the Mall of the Emirates!
