I am still a little bit confused about Eid al Adha this year in Dubai. Some say it may be 4th, 5th or 6th November, others say it will be on 7th November. I understand this has to do with a visible moon, but I suppose it probably will be clear sky in November - so which date will it most probably be? Anybody who knows?
Well, for what it's worth, my Israeli (!) diary gives dates of Muslim holidays, and it says Eid el-Adha is four days, starting November 6. This presumably refers to Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and according to this it's the same dates throughout the world.

@mikkelrev - Indeed it depends on what the Moonsighting Committee will decide. Every country (sometimes even province or city) have their own committees and will decide based on their findings. That said, there are countries where the government takes generous decisions and publish the official holidays a few days in advance so as to give people a chance to organise their Eid lives. Happens in Oman frequently, and parts of UAE as well.
Johnnyflowers, don't they have Google where you are?
And yes, you do sound dumb, when there have been several references on this thread to Muslim holidays.

Right, it most likely begins on November 6. That's the most important day -- people often times refer to just the first day as Eid ul-Adha. But, some places will give days off or cut back hours for the following three days as well.
Dubai has a long history of shunting the dates for Eid holidays around to suit their purposes.
Eid al Adha is traditionaly a 3 day Eid for the private sector and a 4 or 5 day Eid for the government sector, depending on where the weekend falls.
Given that it should fall on or around the 6th November which is a Sunday, then the private sector holiday will likely be declared as being Friday / Saturday / Sunday(4-6th), or Sat/Sun/Mon (5-7th), where Fri and Sat are already the weekend.
For the purposes of planning a trip / holiday in Dubai, you should assume that public sector / govt offices etc will be closed on the Sunday and Monday at least, and possibly the Tuesday as well.
