I am looking for a place to stay in Dubai from 17-21 December. I have looked at the net, but everything is so expensive. Does anyone know about a place to stay? It's nice if it's not to fare from Bur Dubai / The Creek. I am traveling alone (midd-age woman). I would be very thankful if anyone can help me.

We are in Dubai right now, we used agoda.com and found a nice hotel for around $30USD a night. If you book online you can find some reasonable deals, but we are here during low season so we may have just gotten lucky due to timing. I think Dec is high season for the region.

OP : what is your budget and what kind of amenities are you looking for? If you can give more details, we can try and give clearer options.

There are quite a few places available now : specially serviced apartments which are very reasonable.

Thanks both of you. I prefer to get it as cheap as possible, but up to 50 dollars I believe I have to pay to get anything. I don't need any luxury, just a good bed and quiet room. I have heard it's best to stay close to or in Bur Dubai / The Creek.

Sorry to say that you are very unlikely to get a place for USD 30 a night in December as this is high season.

But never say never : try places like London Crown, Belvedere Apartments, Ramee Royal and also a place called Lotus Downtown metro which is in Deira (may be cheaper though) but bang opposite the metro station and a 90 second ride from Bur Dubai.
