Dear Thorntreers
What is the best guide book for planning and performing a 8 days' visit to the Emirates ? (no focus on beaches and relaxation/luxury)

an 8 day visit will be enough to visit the best places in Dubai! I am sure you'll love it here! As for the guide i would say the Entertainer hands down!! It's funny i was just telling another blogger about this book but basically it's a massive book with tons and tons of 2 for the price of 1 vouchers to all the main Dubai attractions along with restaurants cafes nightspots spas and so on! it's really cool! I got mine from spinneys but i guess other supermarkets like Carrefour have it or you could just go on their website www.theentertainerme.com

Hope that helps!
cheers

Thank you for your advice. I'm travelling alone - around the Emirates - I suppose that the vouchers are only useful for couples?

The vouchers for food and activities are only useful for couples but they also do a body book which you can use by yourself, it includes most of the best salons, spas, clinics of Dubai so that might be handy for you? Definitely make sure you check out Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, it's gorgeous!!

Hope that helps :)
