If I have 2 days stopover at Abu Dhabi, suggest what I should do?
Should I spend both days at Abu Dhabi or spend it at Dubai or 1 at each place?

Also, I will be going over to Jordan, Israel, Egypt and so will see the desserts there.
Is it then worth it to see the dessert in Abu Dhabi (empty quarter).
Is it any different from the desserts at Jordan & Egypt?

Also, any idea how much dune-bashing in 4WD will cost in Abu Dhabi? Any tour agents to recommend?
Can you also recommend a budget place to stay at Abu Dhabi?
Thanks a lot!

Hi WuffRuff, I am living in Abu Dhabi and recommend either a day in each city or both days in Dubai. Abu dhabi doesnt have much to offer tourists other than the emirates palace, grand mosque,a dhow cruise and the heritage village. Note: grand mosque is not open for tourists on a friday.

Try: http://www.desertsafaridubai.com for options of tours, etc.

The desert safaris are a highlight of all that the UAE has to offer with traditional food, bellydancing, camel rides, shisha smoking, the oppotunity to try on the local dress, as well as some gorgeous photo oppotunities at sunset in the desert.

I'd recommend you to rent a car to drive to and from Dubai from Abu Dhabi: it's not expensive (we paid about 40EUR per day (all tax incl.) for a small-medium car in summer; w/ Hertz) and you'll get to see the desert on the way (you could take the road to Al Ain and then up to Dubai).

Good travels!
Cheers,

Pau
