Visa

Evening all,

Wondering if anyone has an experience in obtaining a (presumably single entry) Syrian visa either at a border or in Damascus for FUTURE USE? Reason is that I have a multiple entry 6 months visa and am planning to remain in Syria to finish an Arabic course after it expires (and am aware of the extension process and/or new single entries via Lebanon) however now will unexpectedly have to travel to Europe briefly for a wedding after the 6 month multi-entry expires... and would ideally like to fly back to Damascus directly and avoid having to go through Beirut and the land border ... hence if I could obtain a visa in advance then I would be able to fly back directly to Syria in theory. French passport.

Any info is much appreciated.

On a separate note, does anyone in Damascus have recommendations for gyms and/or ways to stay in shape for lonter-term visitors? From experience I reckon running outside is not going to be easy from both a traffic and temperature point of view!

There are gyms all round Damascus .When you get there ask the locals they will find you one near where you live.If you any problem finding one PM me.Running outside in the streets is not an option at all.
