tehran from melbourne

Hi,

Just curious whether anyone has done this route before and can give me some advice on finding a cheap fare. The cheapest I could find was with an internet travel agent for $1450 (excluding taxes) flying a combination of Malaysia Airlines to KL then Iran Air to Tehran. I am hoping to travel in late July or early-mid August.

as you like to know about the best price and rout for your trip to tehran last year of of my friends from australia /adelaide his name was james randy came to iran, just with US$ 950 he came to kuala lumpur then took the plane to dubai then transit to iran by iran air,

i don know the exact prices right now but i don't think that i has changed too much.

I think Malaysian Air put their tax up tomorrow, so book TODAY if you can or ring them ro ask them about it.

Try bestflights.com.au as well (you can book flights from any country to any country and they are good value). Also fiddle around with dates, try 1 or 2 days before you ideal date or one or two after, as some airlines only do some routes every second day or only a few times a week. It's only short notice too (flying in august) but you could possible do better than 1450+tax. I am looking in to going to iran october and it cheapest was with Malaysian air for about 2300 rtn inc tax, which was about 1400 inc tax on the way there.

Also what were you doing re yur visa? it can take up to 6 weeks to get a visa from canberra embassy, but word on this website is you can get visas on arrival for 15 days with an Aussie passport.

Try Jetstar to Singapore (return) then Qatar Airlnes (online) to tehran via Doha.

Raki_Man; Thanks, Christian's suggestion might be more economical? I think jetstar does non-stop to bangkok and its about the same pricewise to Singapore.
